The Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, Charlotte Salvi, who is on an official visit to China, visited Shanghai from July 9th to 10th. Salvi said in an interview with reporters that the current global climate change situation is severe, and he is willing to learn from China's climate governance plans and experiences, and work together with China to address climate change.

Salvi stated that Vanuatu, as a South Pacific island nation, has long faced challenges in its natural environment. During the difficult times of disasters, China selflessly provided assistance to help Vanuatu achieve socio-economic development. China strives to ensure that no country falls behind in the process of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and Vanuatu will always stand shoulder to shoulder with China.

Salvi said that this is his second visit to Shanghai after 20 years, and the development of Shanghai has impressed him. Shanghai is a beautiful city, and the streets filled with flowers make us feel very familiar. The urban beautification construction here is very worth learning from, "he said.

As early as 1994, the capital of Vanuatu, Port Vila, became a friendly city with Shanghai, forming a deep friendship. Salvi expressed the hope that in the future, Port Vila can achieve harmonious development between humans and nature, just like Shanghai.

Salvi and his delegation visited the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shanghai Futures Exchange, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Shanghai Museum, and others. He said he hopes that both sides can further strengthen cooperation in areas such as urban intelligence construction, rural economic development, ocean development cooperation, addressing climate change, and deepening sister city relations in the future. Welcome more enterprises to invest and develop in Vanuatu, and more tourists to visit and sightsee. By strengthening economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, we will further consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
